After finding the right fit – which the Outplay staff were INCREDIBLY helpful with, including the return process with my first try at the Flatsea that just happened to not be what I was looking for – this product is incredible. I opted for the medium with high compression, and it fits perfectly (measurements: 33″ hips, 29″ waist above the navel/ smallest point, 31″ just under my chest, and 35.5″ at the widest point of my chest at approximately 135 lbs). The Swimmee does not compress my chest as entirely flat as a hook-and-eye style binder, but given the physical nature of when I would be wearing it (weight lifting, swimming, cycling, etc.), I did not want to have too tight of a compression that makes for constrained breathing or muscle pain. That being said, my chest still appears no larger than what could be assumed to be pectoral muscle when wearing the Swimmee, and it allows me to breathe fully while feeling comfortable and secure in very effective binding. I found that folding the bottom of the Swimmee up and under only an inch or two (like rolling up the cuff of a pant leg opposed to doubling up fabric) gave me a much flatter look by “filling in” the space between my chest tissue and abdomen.
I paired this Swimmee in black with a pair of black Outplay BoiShorts, and they come together perfectly to make a great swim suit and exercise outfit (both with a shirt over top and without). The fabric is Lycra, which makes for a smooth feel and look that wicks moisture away very well. The stitching, fabric, and everything else about the garments I’ve ordered down to the packaging and branding equates to nothing but high-quality with every attention to detail (fit, design, and the like).
I’m beyond excited – to say the least – to be able to exercise comfortably and swim again with reduced anxiety/ dysphoria during those times. I am an avid road cyclist, I’ve recently trained for and completed a full marathon, and I’m again returning to weight training – I’m relieved to know the physical discomfort of attempting to bind during those times is something I no longer have to worry about, and knowing swimming is no longer something I have to avoid is great. I, without a doubt, recommend giving something from Outplay a try if chest compression is something you haven’t found a comfortable solution to for swimming, exercise, or simply keeping cool in hotter weather (and looking sharp while you’re at it!). Returns are simple and easy to manage if selecting the right size is a concern. I can say I am glad I waited for this product to be released opposed to spending quite a bit more replacing lower-quality binders after such extensive wear from exercise that only ended up being uncomfortable and causing pain and irritation. Outplay’s customer service/ support is some of the best I’ve experienced to date and staff were incredibly personable in our communication and beyond helpful with helping me find the right fit – making sure I was entirely happy with my order.
Thanks again!

Got high compression and it literally does nothing to flatten my chest, just supports it like a bra would. Wondering now how low compression could be any different.
I’m very angry and disappointed and definitely going to return it asap. Was really looking forward to going swimming comfortably for the first time in years but looks like I can’t…
For the reference of anyone looking to buy this product, I’m only a B cup, and I definitely got the right size (medium). Also a general warning that everything but the binder is categorised as women’s swimwear. This company doesn’t support trans/nb people

I purchased this item a while ago; and have had it for a while. Recently I decided to come back to see if it’s either I’m just too chubby or there is something wrong with the purchase. Another had the same problem as me. I ordered high compression and it does no compression what so ever. It’s been a long time so I probably can’t return it. It’s disappointing to see others have the same problem as me. Thought it was for transmen.

This is the only swim suit in which I have ever felt comfortable. I would size down if between sizes to keep it snug (like a swim suit should fit). Incredibly comfortable and although it isn’t a binder it is the next best thing.

I love my Swimmie and my Flatriver. I added the Swimmie this summer so I would have something a little less heavy to wear for multi-sports, and I’ve been having a blast wearing it for swimming, biking, kayaking, and stand-up paddle. The high compression has been a great choice for me to use as a sports bra that also takes me into the water. I am always ready to swim!
I love the look of this item. As a middle aged, fluid-presenting, cisdyke, I love love love looking so boy. I have never felt so comfortable and completely myself in swimwear.
The only thing keeping me from a 5-star rating is the application of the contrast trim. Unlike my Flatriver, the trim on the Swimmee comes to a hard, uncomfortable point at the seam. The seams fall high up in the armpit, and with the high compression, really dig into the soft flesh there. It’s pretty uncomfortable. I hope that they soften up with wear, and may even take it to a seamstress to see if the trim can be adjusted somehow.

It fit well and as a person with an already small chest it made me appear to be flat. I felt a lot more confident and comfortable at the beach. My only critique is that it dug into my armpits a bit, but maybe that’s cause I needed a size up? I don’t know… overall a great product that I highly recommend!

Amazing cut and perfect compression. I’m 5’3 and measure 36B, this top was secure and incredibly flattering.

They have no size chart so I had no way to know what size to get. I got the small first because that is the size binder I wear, it was way to small and I couldn’t even get it over my chest. I tried large and it hung off my body and did nothing. I tried medium and it still kind of hung off my body and the high compression did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It was worse than a sports bra. I would give it 0 stars if I could. I was looking forward to be able to swim without being miserable for the first time in a while and I guess that that isn’t going to happen.

I love my Swimmee!!! I am an AFAB enby person. I cannot describe my glee at wearing something that keeps everything more contained and flatter. For others looking – THIS IS NOT A BINDER. Clearly, you see that from other reviews :-). I only give it 4 stars because I do think a more accurate and honest description would not refer to it as high compression. But the ‘high’ compression it has is perfect for me. I feel my most gender fabulous self with things compressed some and contained/smooth, but I don’t experience dysphoria when my chest shows signs of being AFAB. Also, I wear it most often as a sports bra, when truly high compression isn’t good for me. I wear it for boxing workouts with muscle tees and all feels right in the world.

Love the look of this but SUPER disappointed with the sizing. Like someone else, I ordered a Medium and it was falling off me when I put it on. Then, I ordered a small and could barely get it over my head. No idea what’s going on and hoping it was an error in shopping, but very disappointed thus far.

I adore this top!!! I am a very curvy trans man with a very generous chest unfortunately, and this top helps with my dysphoria more than any swimwear I’ve ever had!! No, it doesnt make me completely flat, but binders dont either so I am not disappointed there. The material isnt itchy or anything and seems to dry pretty quickly! Its lightweight, the compression isnt more straining than any normal bathing suit. I was not expecting the cut to be very flattering but was willing to take that hit for a better experience with dysphoria, however I feel cute and confident for the first time in ages! I cannot commend this enough, and I adore I!

Just got my swimmee in the mail and I’m honestly blown away. I got high compression and it flattens my chest enough to alleviate my dysphoria but am still comfortable enough to swim. My main complaint with most binders or tight sports bras (usually my go to for beach days or kayaking) is that they never have full enough coverage for someone bigger. This binder has fuller coverage, is comfortable for activities, and looks fashionable and sporty. I honestly might buy a few of these for days that call for lighter / more comfy binding. Shipping was SO fast. Thank y’all for making this!

This fits GREAT. I am a size 32B and the Medium size fits perfectly. I got it in the high compression and as the other reviews say, it’s not super strong but flattens enough to help me feel more comfortable. I also like that it’s not too tight because it doesn’t cause armpit or rib fat to bulge out. Thank you outplay for creating this product! So happy with my purchase.

I received my swimmee earlier this summer and it’s the only thing I can swim in now. The high compression flattens my chest as much as possible while still giving me the mobility to swim comfortably. I also like that it doesn’t cover my ribs so it doesn’t make it hard to breathe. I’m a “C” cup chest and wear a size Medium.

This rode up very high into my armpits and I had a hard time breathing. If you already have a hard time with binding this won’t be much better. However if it doesn’t, this will work well for you- I gave it to a friend who loves it. This swim binder honestly seems to fit shorter people and those with smaller chests better. I’m a 34B and the high compression only did a small difference for my chest. Not a bad product, but it seems to only correctly fit a specific body type.

It would be great if it fit. I ordered the medium first, and there was at least an extra inch, possibly two, between me and the bottom band, and the compression was nonexistent even though I ordered high.
Exchanged it for a small, and the measurements say it should fit, but the botom band was almost 2 inches shorter than my shoulder width and I couldn’t even get it on. Having to return it twice put me out a good $18 or more for return shipping.

My chest size is 36 C, not particularly big or small for my body type. I opted for the high compression.
This worked great for me, brought in my chest line by at least half. Under a shirt, I get a pretty flat look. comfy.

This is a really good quality swim top if you are looking for swim wear that compresses your chest. Even though the swim tops are quite pricey i think its worth the price. The only reason i didn’t give this 5 starts is because of the sizing, i got a small and it looked kind of small on me so i got a medium and it was too big! I really wish that they did custom sizing for people that don’t quite fit in-between sizes (gc2b does custom sizes). The customer service made up for it, at first it was hard to contact the company and get an answer right away but you also have to consider that we are in the middle of a pandemic. The company ended up giving me store credit, over all Outplay is a good brand for people looking for androgynous/non conforming swim wear and would definitely recommend to a friend!
