I finally got the Flatsea I ordered and it is by far the closest I’ve come to finding something that would make me feel truly comfortable swimming again. Thank you! I appreciate you making suits for those of us who want something “appropriate” to wear at the beach. Now I want another one in grey!

Awesome! I just received my swim tank, and I love it! It fits great, feels great, and lets me swim without, well, without too much dysphoria. I have been finding it difficult to swim lately because of a lack of compression tops, and this made my whole year! I am back to enjoying the water rather than talking myself out of it. It was worth the wait. Thank you!

This thing is amazing. By far the most comfortable option that I’ve found for swimming in a long time! The fabric is a bit heavier than I was expecting, which I suppose is a good thing if you are buying it for the compression. I have the low-compression model, and it feels great.

Bought this last summer and somehow forgot until Januray that I needed to review it..? -laughs- The way of things, I suppose.
The bottom hem snapped when I was putting it on probably the third or fourth time, but apart from that I adore this top. Luckily my aunt is a seamstress, so she was able to fix it up for me, and said I should let y’all know to stretch the fabric out more when stitching, which should prevent the snapping of threads.
It’s been such a long time since I’ve been able to go swimming comfortably, and this suit definitely does the trick. My only other complaint is that it does tend to scoot up after moving around a bit, but if I tuck it under my shorts waistband this is lessened. Maybe a model with a slightly tighter/wider band around the bottom could be something further down the line? I know this isn’t a feature that everyone would want, but I feel like it might help keep things in place.
It’s not my tightest binder, but it does enough that I feel alright going swimming at the beach, and that is something incredible. The high neck and armholes are also nice, as it hides any sort of awkwardness from the binding.Thank you for making such a fantastic product, and I’ll definitely be buying again.
[This doesn’t have so much to do with the product as with the company, but I had some issues with receiving the top{manufacturer errors} and they were able to work with me and get my order overnighted before my flight. They were very friendly and accommodating, keeping me posted as things progressed.]

Shipping was fast and efficient. I was super excited when it finally got here, only to be slightly disappointed.
I ordered the “High Compression” one in hopes it would bind well enough for me to use at work, only to find it’s no more compressing than your average bathing suit.
Not sure if I was accidentally shipped the low compression, or if this is really how it is?
Makes me wonder exactly how strong the low compression one is…

Tchau tankinis!
This is the only “mainstream” swim top I have that doesn’t make me feel like a walking pair of breasts. I have super modest anti-sun tops but sometimes I want to wear a normal top, a fun top, this awesome Flatsea top! There is a lot less tugging and readjusting when wearing the Flatsea. There is no pinching or squishing or red marks on my skin! The Outplay Blue is fantastic, even better than in the pictures. Now I want a red one. The front is double-lined so you don’t have to wear anything underneath (unless you want to). The fabric is very high quality and comfortable. I like the androgynous cut, the length is good, and it is good camouflage if you are apple-shaped and don’t 100% love apples. The color did run a tad when I first washed it, so be cautious. The size chart is a little ambiguous: I have a large bust but I’m otherwise skinny, so I have a large in low compression. It’s a tad loose but I like it, although I may try a medium. I’m 5’7″, 130, D or DD. However, the arm holes are perfect: not to tight and not too loose, so if you are really ripped or have broad shoulders be cautious. If you have doubts about the size I suggest contacting customer service: they are very responsive and pretty cool. Overall I like this top a lot: I like it for swimming, playing on the beach, biking, and I would even wear it to the gym.

I love this product, for year I’ve been looking for something like this. The fit is amazing!

Nice top, but I just thought the high compression would bind a little more. Feels a lot like a regular, more sturdy swim top. Although, even though it doesn’t bind to my expectations, it will still be a great top to wear to the lake and will help immensely.
Thank you.

This says it’s supposed to be made of 100% Lycra. It doesn’t even contain Lycra according to the tag. And also, I got high compression and it binds worse than a sports bra.
Outplay team –
Hi Caryle,
The outer layer (the body of the top, as stated in the description) is made of 100% Lycra, reason why most of the swimwear we ship out has the Lycra label attached by the hang tag. The materials you mentioned are what the compression materials inside the swim top are made of. The compression in our swim tops is created a rigid mesh material sewn in between the Lycra outside body and the inner spandex lining. This material is woven in a more rigid material that has some stretch in it as well in order to be able to move along with the body of the swimwear.
We are sorry to hear the compression of the Flatsea was not what you were expecting.
We hope this explanation helps. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to let us know; we will do our best to answer your questions.

I bought the flatsea in two colors. Previously I avoided swimming or was stuck in tank tops that took too long to dry and felt horrible to sit around in wet, not to mention looked silly. This year with a little one, I decided it was time to find a solution. Thanks to the flatsea, I was able to swim comfortably, felt confident and dried quickly. I purchased the high compression top, got full comfortable coverage and a flat appearing chest. Great product, great quality and great customer service. So glad OutPlay exists.

I really liked the top I already have but I wanted to try a medium, so I got another in red. I like it a lot and wear it almost every day to swim laps. My only criticism is that the arm holes are a little pinchy. I got high compression this time to contain my ridiculous chest in athletic situations, but I don’t need to bind. If you need to bind this is probably not the top for you unless you pair it with another top or you are fairly flat-chested. I’m a D and at first it did flatten me out, now it just holds me in, but there is no doubt that I’m female bodied. It depends on what your objective is, but I like this top.
Ashley (verified owner) –
I like this, but I wish it was a little longer.
I have a fairly long torso and I found the bottom hem was a little too high when I was swimming and being active.
Other than that, it’s pretty comfortable. Agree with the comment about the arm holes being a bit small, but I think I’ve mostly gotten used to it.

I got this and it just didn’t work out for me. It hardly does any flattening and now after $50 I’m stuck with it because I accidentally had a tag fall off while I was trying it on. Maybe it would work as a regular tank top for someone but it’s really not much a binder

I love the Flatsea but the material is very heavy – it’s not comfortable to sit in this thing on the drive to the beach. Also, the red has stained a bunch of my clothes when it’s wet – even after a zillion washes. I have to wash separately and can never wear a wet suit on the way home from the beach.

I decided 20 minutes after ordering a different Outplay swimtop that I actually wanted the Flatsea. I called and it was 6pm so I figured they’d be closed but they answered, said they had already packaged it but would be happy to switch it out for the one I preferred! This was friday night and it’s already here, wednesday! So nice!
The top itself is great! I was very nervous it was going to be too long, not compress enough, etc… but honestly, I think it’s exactly what I was looking for ! I measure at a 36.5 inch chest but was told to go down in size rather than up so I ordered the medium, which I believe says it is a 34inch, in the tightest compression. It’s not to tight at all and I’m so excited to go swimming in it! Also, I’m thinking about ordering more in different colours because I think I could wear this just as a tank top in the heat.

Wow wow wow! I’m blown away by how amazing this swim binder is. As a trans guy that hasn’t had top surgery yet, this is a dream come true. Its so comfortable and binds better than my econo tri top binder. I ordered on Sunday night and received on Thursday afternoon with the flat rate shipping option just in time for my spur of the moment trip. I’m small but have a little bit of a tummy and I was worried the fabric wouldn’t be long enough to not ride up, but there is plenty of extra fabric to tuck into my trunks. Consider me a future customer!

Pretty disappointed with the fit of this. Very narrow without any give which makes it difficult to get on over the shoulders. I’m 5’7” with a long torso. I ordered a medium and it was way too short. I also ordered the high compression and it was maybe the equilivent of a sports bra.
Jay –
I was a little hesitant to get this, but I’m pretty glad that I did. It’s a little heavy and it tends to roll up a little but you can fix that easily by tucking it into your shorts. I got the high compression option, and its fairly effective- it didnt get me totally flat, it did get me down a few cup sizes (im a DD and it got me down to an A or B)
Overall pretty good
The Tams –
I am tall and have loose belly from where used to be chubbier so do not want my guts sticking out. I started by trying the Flatriver in high compression as it is a bit longer and I hoped would hold in the wobbles. Being fairly flat-chested, but not flat bellied, I found there was too much room up top (gaping/no compression) if I got a size big enough to go around the middle.
After talking with the staff, I decided to try a flatsea in low compression. The Flatsea is definitely a better fit if you don’t have much boob-wise. More stretch in the back with the low compression also helps the fit conform to my body more, while still holding things in place. The length on me is fine with my boardshorts, not letting anything hang out. It doesn’t make me flat up top, but it de-emphasises while still allowing good movement swimming.
I am super stocked with the product. Its the first time I have felt comfortable in my swim suit in a long time.
This is a great company with amazing customer service, and a super valuable product. I feel super lucky to have come across their store.

The Flatsea is exactly what I needed. It is well made and offered full coverage while being very comfortable. It is the first time I have felt myself in a bathing suit. I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation fully without being self conscious.
The customer service at Outplay was outstanding. I was unsure what I needed and they spent time listening to my needs and offered several solutions. They made sure I had options and ensured the products were mailed out in time to be able to take to the beach!!
Thank you Outplay for being such a unique company with unrivaled products. I will certainly purchase again and refer others your way. Keep up the good work.

Mine just arrived today, and needless to say I’m so disappointed. We took the measurements right, ordered a size down to make sure it fit and compressed where I wanted it to, and it was still too big in the chest, which was the worst feeling ever. It was a large with high compression, which should have fit correctly!! I don’t think I’ll ever be buying something from here again.

This is a terrific top. Thanks to you, Outplay, this is the first time my young one has been happy in a swim suit in years. I’m so grateful to you for helping people be themselves!
